In match play (aka Ryder Cup).. when you score 3 and 2, it means, you won 3 up with 2 holes to go. They do not play the last 2 holes as they are meaningless.

So a 5 and 1 is not the proper venacular. You two played all 18 (which is OK), and the final score was 5 TO 1. You didn't need to play the last 4 holes and the score would have been 5 and 4.

Just thought I would give that bit of triva as the only person that has it correct is Shawn.

Then I think our results would read 4 and 3. We played the last 3 holes anyways since it was on the way to the car but didn't need to as I went up by 4. Does that sound right?
